The Hiring Process

We want you to know all the steps in our hiring process so we can make this a seamless experience for you. Check out the steps it takes to start a job with Team Amentum now.

Application

The first step in the hiring process is to create your profile. You can do this by visiting our website. Once you’ve created your Amentum profile, you’ll upload a resume, or insert your work experience, answer some questions about your skills and abilities, and supply information on your current (if any) clearance level. Please be sure to provide all of the information requested in the application; we’ll need all of this information from you to move forward with your application for positions that require that you have/obtain a high level security clearance.

Security Check

After you’ve completed your application, Amentum Personnel Security may reach out to verify that you have a current TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance or are eligible to obtain a TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance and have the potential to successfully complete the clearance process.  This is achieved via Amentum’s Security PreScreen form.  It’s essential that you are entirely honest and open when completing this form.  If not, issues will likely arise in process that will prevent you from being hired after significant investments - time/effort on your part and financial investment on Amentum and the government’s part. Please note: Marijuana is NOT legalized Federally and any type of marijuana use in the last twelve (12) months WILL disqualify you.

Offer

When you’ve successfully passed the screening and security check, we will extend you an offer.  Once you accept, you’ll receive a time sensitive email from HireRight requesting a Drug Test and (if you already have the required clearance) Education Verification and Criminal Records Check.  Once you’ve completed this, Amentum’s Personnel Security team will work with you to complete your eQIP/SF86.   In this stage, we ask that you please respond to emails in a timely manner or you may be dropped from the process.

Clearance processing

Upon successfully completing your eQIP/SF86, our site security team will be reviewing and submitting your information to the government. If you already have a TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance, the process could take less than a month. However, it could take longer depending on the individual case. With this process kicked off, you could be eligible to start working and attending your week-long training in as little as a month. If we are sponsoring your TS/SCI with Polygraph (or just the Polygraph), know that this process on average can take 4-8 months. Please know, the government may reach out to you for additional information.

Training

Once you your clearance has transferred over or been obtained/adjudicated, our site security will reach out to via email/phone to set up your indoc and start date/training class.  In Maryland, Access Control Specialist training classes normally run Mon – Fri 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and the following Mon - Wed 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.  Training at other sites (GA, HI, TX & UT) usually is 3-4 days.  You MUST complete all required training prior to starting on site.

That’s the whole process in a nutshell. We are excited to be working with you on Team Amentum!
